Pre-registration is required for all classes listed below as space is limited. Registration is accomplished by emailing marcia@inkedtile.com or by calling me at 720-775-5111.

Most pre-scheduled night classes are held in the office of my day job which is located in the Colorado Club Office Building, 4155 E Jewell Ave., Ste 200, Denver CO 80222. Class times are shown with the scheduled dates below. Please check back here before your class to be sure the location and time have not changed.

All patterns taught are based on the original work of Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, founders of Zentangle® and the Zentangle Teaching Method™.

All classes are about 2 hours in length.

Classes are customized to the group and lesson being taught – each is unique.

While all classes include basic supplies for that particular class, additional kits and supplies will be available for sale during the class and online.

Rates for private parties, social groups, clubs, seniors groups, team building exercises, corporate groups and large groups are negotiated in advance. If you require that I travel outside the Denver area to teach, it is expected that you will cover the cost of travel and transportation to and from the destination, and housing at the destination.

WEEKEND CLASSES MAY BE SCHEDULED IN ADDITION TO THOSE LISTED ABOVE BASED ON INTEREST AND SPECIAL REQUESTS AND AVAILABILITY OF A LOCATION

If you can’t decide what you want to learn, take advantage of a class package – for $145, you can enroll in any one Basic Zentangle Class and THREE other classes of your choice. This allows you some flexibility and you get a great price for the package. All supplies are included in the price EXCEPT for fabric or glass item for the ‘Tangling on anything but paper class’ if that’s one of your choices. When you order a class you'll get a 'Punch Card', which is good for 6 months. You MUST bring the punch card you receive upon purchase in order to prove that you have already paid for the class. Pre-registration is still required, just mention that you are on a 'class package' in your email or call when you register and bring your 'punch card' to the class. Punch cards cannot be used for previously taken classes.

Basic Zentangle® Class

Prerequisite: None

Class Time: About 2 hours

Cost includes Mini Zentangle® supply kit.

Zentangle® is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images by drawing repetitive patterns, while increasing focus and creativity. In this class you will learn the theory behind Zentangle®. You will also learn 6-8 official patterns and learn how to do a few of your own. Just bring an open mind and a willingness to learn. Additional supplies will be available during class.

Beyond the Basics

Prerequisite: Basic Zentangle Class

Class Time: About 2 hours

Cost includes additional supplies – bring your Mini Zentangle kit from the Basics.

Learn more tangle patterns and more complex patterns. This class teaches string variations, enhancements, and an introduction to a variety of materials that can be used in your art. You will learn at least 6-8 new patterns in this class. Additional supplies will be available during the class.

Organic Tangles

Prerequisite: Basic Zentangle Class

Class Time: About 2 hours

Cost includes additional supplies – bring your Mini Zentangle kit from Basics.

Learn patterns that resemble things we see in nature. Learn curvy, pretty, classy, fun, organic patterns – a way to add visual interest and personality to your artwork. You will learn another 6-8 patterns that work well together and how to incorporate them into non-organic linear patterns.

What’s Black, White & Tan all over?(hint: look at the Chief Meow Meow on Inkedtile.com)

Prerequisite: Basic Zentangle Class

Class time: About 2 hours

Cost includes specialized supplies for working on dark surfaces.

In this class you will work on anything but white tiles. You will work on black and tan tiles and other kinds of paper. You will learn methods for making the work pop. Very dramatic affects when working on black and dark paper colors. Learn patterns that work well in this reverse light.

Zendalas

Prerequisite: Basic Zentangle Class

Class time: About 2 hours

Cost includes additional and specialized supplies – bring your Mini Zentangle kit from Basics.

A Zendala is a combination of Zentangle and traditional mandalas. Mandalas are a circular design that historically has spiritual and religious significance, and represent the universe from the human perspective. Learn different ways to make Zendala strings and more Zentangle patterns to fill it. Additional supplies will be available during the class. And of course more tangle patterns will be taught.

Tangling on anything but paper

Prerequisite: Basic Zentangle Class

Class time: About 2 hours

Cost includes fabric and glass markers only. YOU must provide the item that you want to tangle – suggestions: bring your Mini Zentangle kit from the basic class, bring a light colored t-shirt, a light colored or white canvas bag or tote, a ball cap that is light in color, or a white or light colored small porcelain dish (will not be able to use for food after we work on it). Learn yet another batch of tangles that look great on large pieces or larger in scale, learn about different types of markers and pens that work well on alternative surfaces.
